Grandpa goes to Washington

We brought Dad up to spend a week with us in Virginia. It was the hottest day of the year, but we went to Washington and walked around a few of the monuments. The best part of the trip was getting Dad and his Sister together. They laughed and told stories about growing up in the depression and how they depended on each other. It was a very interesting week, but I think Dad was surprised by how far apart the monuments are. On TV they look real close together, but in reality they are far apart. I will start this blog with a couple pictures from that trip.

Dad on the Metro, looks just like another commuter with his free paper. You can tell it was a weekend, there was no one else on the train. You can guess how this would look on a weekday.
